This contemporary version will return to the original uncanny and menacing essence of Bram Stoker’s Dracula, last seen in F.W.Murnau’s ‘Nosferatu’. The structure will be closer to Stoker’s novel than any film yet made, employing Stoker's use of multiple media sources to create the story. This modern vernacular is different from classical film making/structuring but will be immediately recognisable today. We will employ the use of documentary techniques and create footage seemingly sourced from Social Media, News reports, radio reports, CCTV etc. These precisely created media sources with their specific qualities of sound and vision will all add to the film’s verisimiltude. This will allow a more abstract approach to story construction and we will use the juxtaposition of images, (Editing) first employed by Eisenstein in ‘Battleship Potemkin’, to communicate the story rather than relying on verbal exposition.
