Dracula is the most re-made film in cinema history - but no one has ever made it like this...

 

Fluidity Films will create an innovative and contemporary version of Dracula yet one that remains faithful to the original uncanny and menacing heart of Bram Stoker’s novel.

 

In 1897 Bram Stoker constructed his story of Dracula using multiple media sources; personal correspondence, newspaper reports, telegrams, diaries and even phonographic recordings, to create the illusion that this was the real and actual account of true and terrifying events. Now, over 100 years later, we will blend traditional film & camera techniques with footage seemingly sourced from social media, TV news reports, radio reports, CCTV, webcams, police cams, emails and messaging to retell one of the greatest cinematic horror stories for a 21st Century audience.

Recently developed compact cinema quality cameras will enable us to create a raw realist movie using non-classical filmmaking techniques. Essentially we are returning to the original source material to create a dark, sinister film told through a modern filmmaking vernacular yet at the same time remaining faithful to Bram Stoker's narrative structure and his portrayal of his predatory and malevolent vampire.
